What I work with…

(The most common challenges that my clients share with me.)

Addiction

Sex and Love Addiction

Sexual addiction is a particularly difficult issue to address because of all the shame that accompanies the behaviors. If sexual preoccupation and/or unwanted behaviors have taken over your life, I would be honored to help you pursue freedom.

Substance & “Process” Addictions

Whether your “drug of choice” is a substance or a learned behavior, the nature of addiction remains the same. It’s that which we depend on to help us to cope with the pains and discomforts of life. If you’re trapped in the snare of addiction, there’s hope for freedom.

Codependency

If life and your relationships feel burdensome because you never seem to be able to please everyone – you may struggle with patterns of codependency. Often considered an addictive pattern, codependents become dependent on the responses of others rather than developing the freedom to live their own lives.

Faith & Spirituality

Spiritual Leader Burnout

Being a spiritual leader is generally a lonely undertaking. You are placed on a pedestal and expected to be perfect – but you’re still human and still have struggles. The inability to seek help is often what leads to burnout and/or compromising behaviors. Reach out and get the support you need in order to be the spiritual leader you feel called to be.

Faith and Personal Wrestlings

Have you grown up in a spiritual community where it’s not permitted to ask questions? G-d is bigger than our doubts, but we cannot experience Him for who He is if we aren’t able to face our questions. Jacob wrestled with G-d and received a new name. Do you need a safe space to explore the questions that you’ve been afraid to ask?

Spiritual Abuse

Spiritual abuse can occur when a spiritual leader (i.e., rabbi, pastor, priest, or parent) either uses religion for their own ends or puts themselves in the place of G-d in the life of another. Because our spiritual beliefs so greatly affect how we see the world and the choices we make, this abuse can do serious harm to our sense of self and ability to engage in the world around us.

Trauma & PTSD

Trauma and PTSD

We can say we’ve experienced “trauma” when fears, memories, or unexplained symptoms interrupt our ability to function and prevent us from remaining present in the moment.

Abuse & Neglect

Physical, emotional, and sexual abuse can have lasting effects on our persons; neglect no less so. They deeply shape how we see ourselves, others, and the world around us. It’s not easy, but therapy can help you to detangle the past from the present so that we are not responding in the present to wounds from our past.

Sensorimotor Psychotherapy

This is a body-oriented approach to therapy that seeks to enable the body to release acute trauma. If you suffer from flashbacks and other emotional triggers, this is a therapy to help free your body from being “stuck” in memories from the past.

Relationships

Couples’ Counseling

Relationships are hard. We both bring our fears and pain into the relationship, and often times when wounds rub against wounds, we both become undone. Sometimes we need an outside party to help us to distinguish the past from the present and to learn to love and live with this uniquely different person beside us.

Betrayal Trauma

Alongside sexual addictions often come the wounds of the betrayed partner. Whether you’re looking for help in restoring a relationship or simply processing your own grief, help is available. Don’t suffer in silence. The betrayal is NOT your fault!

Ballroom Dancing

The foundation of ballroom dancing is the connection and communication between two people. If you’d be interested in learning how ballroom dancing can teach you more about being present in your relationship, then please reach out to learn more!

It’s never too late.
The journey begins with a simple conversation.

No pressure. No obligation. Just an opportunity to see if this is for you…
